La dernière foi que je me suis arrêté sur la route vers les montagnes, Carole et moi avions laissé derrière nous notre ville adorée de Akaroa pour allez visiter les Alpes. Un grande journée de route; ce qui m’a surpris le plus en arrivant à notre destination du jour, le lac Tekapo, c’est que malgré notre avancée vers les montagnes je gardais le sentiment qu’elles étaient loin.

Last time I stopped on the road to the mountains, my friend Carole and I had left our beloved city of Akaroa to head to go to the Alps. It was a rather long road and one thing surprised me; when we arrived at our destination for the day, lake Tekapo, I felt the mountains were still very far away.
